Kawazukee Fluffy Stuff

30 August 2010

1. What style of Nappy is the Kawazukee Fluffy Stuff?

This is a OSFM snap in booster nappy. ( I don’t know the style name )

2. What was your first impression on receiving the nappy before washing or using?

That is was so sweet and fluffy and the liners were too skinny to be effective. But after using I saw how they work so well. I was honestly surprised.

3. Were the Instructions for washing and prepping the nappy straight forward?

Very basic washing and prepping for this nappy.

4. Did the nappy require washing before first use, and did you?

The nappy did require washing before use and yes I washed it before use.

5. Does the nappy come apart for easy washing and drying?

So easy to take apart for washing and drying.

6. How long did it take the Nappy to dry?

The nappy dries in record time but the liners and boosters take at least half a day because of the bamboo being so absorbent

7. Did you use the nappy the first time through the day or night?

Daytime use for this nappy so far.

8. When you used the nappy the first time, how absorbent was the nappy. Please give a rating out of 5, with 1 being not so absorbent and 5 being very absorbent.

This nappy was well absorbent from the start at a 3 but it’s a 4 now after washing many times. Very good nappy.

9. Did bubs have any appearance of redness from the use of the nappy, eg. around the legs or waist?

No redness or irritation from this nappy

10. How do you feel about the Kawazukee Fluffy Stuff nappy after using it the first time?

It’s a handy nappy that will earn it’s way happily into anyones nappy stash.

Lisa, how good is the fit? will it easily fir big baies?
also how are the boosters, are they one big booster folded, or snap ins or lay ins?

Cute Lisa. It looks quite trim for a OSFA. Seems to fit Elias perfectly!

How long before Elyas needed a change? Did he poo in the nappy and if he did, any stains and how was removing the stains and poo …easy or needed a bit of scrubbig or just put it in the sun and the stain is gone?

It sounds like an AI2 nappy (Where the boosters snap in and are held in place by snaps).
AI2 nappies can be very effective an can work out cheaper if you have extra inserts.
    Lovely review Lisa.

did you have any trouble with the pee travelling to the top of the nappy as this is one thing i seem to have trouble with Ayn in OSFM. I’m gusing this is not a pocket nappy? like you, i too am not really good with the terminology and maybe OSFM dont come in pocket? lol
    Looks pretty trim though

Sorry to bombard, but it took half day outside in sunlight im guessing? It’ll take me two days i think as i wash at night and put the clothes in a hanger in the laundry room!!!

  • kawazukee said:

    hi
yes half a day in the sun is required.
though i get them dry in say 9 hours inside on an airer at home.
where the max temp outside is about 10 degrees.

    yes its an AI2.

i havent had issues with staining as the sun bleaches them nicely lol
the nappy lisa has also fits my 13 kilo 3 yo.

the only downside i have found personaly is they do require 4-5 pre washes to reach full absorbancy :D

Lisa, are there snaps or velcro at the front to fasten the nappy? Looks like snaps, but can’t tell.

  • rubina said:

AND (oh my god, please don’t hit me) does it have the option of adjusting for different sizes?

  • Lisa Abejja said:

    heheh it’s ok..

It has snap in folded boosters BUT also it has 2 extra ones too! Kelly was very generous when she gave me this nappy. It is a great fit on both of the guys. Elias wears this one a few hours. It could go more but i’m fussy with the changing them and don’t like to leave a nappy on the boys for too long. I have a huge stash that I have bought now so I can afford to change them so many times in the day and still not worry about running out of nappies. My boys are very very easy to get a rash so I don’t risk leaving a nappy on for an extended length of time.

The poo stains come out very well. He has done some good bombs in it and a good rinse, then wash and dry in sun gets them stains out very fast. I have washed it a few times and hung it indoors and still the stains were not visible too. Rubina I don’t know about that with the pee. I only get this problem when they are new nappies and not yet reached their absorbency. But now it soaks it up as fast as he puts it out and the entire boosters/inserts swell with it instead of leaking out.

I hope I answered all lol.

Danni I am glad you liked it :) Yeah it’s not a pocket nappy.

Hmmm Rubina it’s snaps on the outside. as for adjusting it I’m not sure if you can. Maybe ask Kelly. I still don’t know how to adjust my adjustable ones ROFL

  • kawazukee said:

    rubina, sizing in which way
it has 9 rows of double snaps to adjust it out to fit around bub
it doesn’t adujust in height through the crotch
the boosters are not adjustable its a trifold boost, so a big square you fold to make 3 layer which is actually 6 layers then a three layer booster.

I would be interested to hear how the fluffy outer is after quite a few washes. Is it hard to clean if poo leaks on to it?

  • Lauren Bradford said:

    Is the outside minkee?

  • rubina said:

Thank you Lisa and kawazukee. I am really interested in this nappy, thus all the questions :)
Seems like an amazing product. Can’t wait to get my hands on one ;)

  • Meg said:

oh that nappy is so cute and Elias looks so comfy and adorable in it!! Sounds liek a great nappy hadn’t heard about these either. I like the snap in booster nappies the best! Is the oustide minky?

  • Bec said:

LOL Rubina love all your questions.
I’m perplexed as to how it fits a little baby so well as well as a 3 year old without snaps to adjust the size of the rise.

  • kawazukee said:

    hi
yes the outer of this nappy is minkee
i do minkee, cotton, minkee/cotton mix.
    and denim

its fits as the rise sits higher on the younger babies and i tend to pull it up at the back to help catch poopslosions..

though i have found there is only 1-2 cm difference in the rise for my 8 month old and my 3 yo.thats from top off nappy at back through legs to top of nappy at the front.

the poop washes off the minkee well as it has a very soft texture it isnt rough so doesn’t HOLD ickyness

  • Lisa Abejja said:

Tennille Elias has given it his best try with a few big bombs and it has come out very very clean with no stains and the fluff is as gorgeous as before I washed it ;) lovely nappy washes up so well!

Kawazukee THANKYOU for explaining :D I didn’t know how hehe

The minkee on this nappy is a very soft one. You know how some they feel kinda hard? I don’t know how to explain. This one doesn’t this is true softness.

This nappy contains them explosions really well. I think also because the inserts are not huge it doesn’t explode out of the sides. Plus it’s super duper easy to take apart to clean. I just took mine off of the inside line, no sun. And Elias did his best shot at ruining it yesterday and its so nice and clean. No stains :D

  • rubina said:

omg, denim, you do denim? i dont have a single denim nappy , MUST get one!

  • Meg said:

oh this nappy sounds really great. I have an issue with OSFM nappies usually being too low in the rise on my tall boy. Have had wee leaks and poo come up the back in some – ewwwwwwwww!! I wonder how this would go on my boy.

I love the sound of the soft minky :P love minky!

  • talitha said:

  • Meg said:

oh I know Talitha!! I so want a girl!! Lisa I bet you feel the same way. Maybe next tiem you will get lucky? :P

  • Lisa Abejja said:

Oh yeah a girl would be so nice. Everytime I see a girl nappy I swoon HAHA !

  • Meg said:

If I have a girl there will be a lot of buying of pink and fairy themed stuff :P

I ♥ the tutu nappies and the football team ones, soo cute. What a pity DH and I both support diferent teams, because there is no way I’d let little miss wear his team and he wont let her wear mine. LOL We may be able to agree on a tutu nappy though. :)

  • Megan said:
